Christen Scott Studio started in 2018 after I decided to resign from
public education in an effort to focus on home and family. Embarking on a new adventure and new season in life can be both invigorating and intimidating. However, I have been blessed beyond measure by these students. They have rekindled my love for making music and for teaching. In addition, I am humbled by how the studio continues to grow. As of now, if all can make it, there will be sixteen students on the program for our recital in June!
The one word that keeps coming to mind as I reflect on this past year is: grateful. Thank you, friends and family, for encouragement and support. Thank you, parents, for entrusting me with your beautiful musicians. And, thank you, students, for your dedication and hard work. Watching you shine on stage is one of the greatest gifts I could receive. Thank you to all who came out to support the studio- I was so encouraged by the sense of community and support for each student’s individual musical journey. How often do you get to hear a six-year old’s very first recital and a collegiate performer share the same stage? Amazing! We all learn from each other, no matter what age or level of expertise, and I am already looking forward to coming together again in June! Hope to see you all there-you don’t want to miss this!
